I want to apologize for the lack of updates. We have tons of perfumes to update and we’re ready! So let’s kick it off by introducing something new to Scent Addicts – Review On The Run. We’ll be posting these when doing a review on a perfume in which there is not a whole lot to say – namely because it may smell extremely similar to another perfume that we have recently tested/reviewed, or because it’s very easy to describe, and not a complex enough of a smell to write an in-depth review of. In today’s example, it’s because Benghal is very similar to Incanto Charms. Let the fun begin!
NOTES (as listed on fragrantica.com): ginger, mandarin orange, apricot, osmanthus, jasmine, sandalwood, musk
CLASSIFICATION: spicy, slightly fruity
AGE GROUP: mature
SIMILAR SCENT(s): Incanto Charms
FORM: eau de toilette
Benghal smells almost identical (to my nose, anyways) to Incanto Charms. This is a more spicy than fruity fragrance, but the fruitiness is apparent enough to mention in the classification. While I wore it, the smell was very consistent from the first application to the end of the day (no surprises or sudden twists). It lasted a very long time on my skin; reapplication would not have been necessary at all. No other reason worth-mentioning factors – this smells identical enough to Incanto Charms that you can get an accurate review of Benghal by reading my other review [of Incanto Charms].

I’m generally a fan of the limited edition Escada fragrances, so I plan on trying all of them. Island Kiss was next on my list!

As reported by The Scented Salamander
Get ready for another insanely awesome perfume bottle to drool over – designer Christian Audigier, the man behind the Ed Hardy name, is launching a new fragrance, Love and Luck. The fragrance will be available in both a mens and womens version, and will be available in December 2008.
The womens version seems like it will have a Japanese feel to it, with Cherry Blossom and Red Sake being two of the notes listed. You can also expect to smell sandalwood and patchouli, giving it an earthy feel. As for the mens, expect a relatively citrus concoction with such notes as bergamot, orange, and mandarin.
Designer Christian Audigier has recently become a celebrity favorite, as his swimwear has been seen this summer on Britney Spears, Heidi Montag, Christina Milian, and others. His previous scents, simply titled Ed Hardy for Men and Ed Hardy for Women have also tasted sweet success, no doubt in part because of their trendy packaging and appeal to the tween and twenty-somethings markets.
The bad news is that we have to wait so long to get a whiff of these exciting new scents. The good news is that they’ll be launched just in time for Christmas, so perhaps our stockings will end up smelling really good this year! Read further for detailed note listings for each fragrance.

Couldn’t wait to try this! doesn’t even BEGIN to sum up how badly I wanted to smell Dolly Girl On The Beach, to cradle it in my arms and love it as if it had come directly from my womb (and, yeah, I’M JOKING to anyone who is laughing AT me and not WITH me). I F*&#ING KNEW IT! pretty much covers my reaction once I had inhaled my first whiff of this nose-tease fragrance.

NOTES: passion fruit, orange, peach granita, champagne mimosa, star jasmine, tiare flower, ylang-ylang, honeysuckle, dewberry blossom, grenadine, violet leaf, vetiver, tonka, blonde woods
All celebrity jokes aside, the original Paris Hilton fragrance is one of my favorite perfumes, ever. I took it upon myself to sample her collection, and Heiress was the second fragrance I purchased in her line. While I was not nearly as impressed with Heiress, I wasn’t terribly disappointed, either.

I ordered a sample of this on a whim while purchasing some other fragrances. I pretty much knew nothing about it, other than that it was a fruity/floral scent, which is what I usually go for. I hadn’t read any reviews about it prior to adding it to my order, but would have probably still added it even if I knew what a terrible reception it had with most online perfume reviewers.

Having been relatively satisfied with Kimora Lee Simmons’s first fragrance (Baby Phat Goddess), my interest was piqued when I heard of Fabulosity.

At work, a new girl that we had just hired always smelled wonderful to me. I finally asked her one day what she was wearing, and it was Ralph Lauren Blue. It was always in the back of my mind to go out and get it for myself, but I had put it off for years, until about a month ago. Some things just aren’t the same as you remember them…
