Reading other reviews of this fragrance caused me to believe that this was an exotic, fresh, pleasing and yet sporty scent. I wasn’t expecting it to be the best thing I’d ever smelled, but even still, the result was very surprising. And I don’t like surprises.

Mariah Carey has recently announced details regarding the new perfume that she has been working on with Elizabeth Arden. The fragrance is set to be a flirty floral, with notes including the Tahitian Tiare flower, lily of the valley, pink peony, and white musk*.

Mariah Carey
Set to launch in August 2008, the bottle will be the same shape and design of her original fragrance (“M”), but this time with a girly, romantic hue of pink with a mother-of-pearlesque sheen in which blue and yellow will also be present. Interestingly enough, the bottle was not designed by Mariah – it was created by Jean Antretter, the senior design director at Elizabeth Arden.

Luscious Pink by Mariah Carey
Says Mariah, “Elizabeth Arden has been a fantastic partner and the end creation of Luscious Pink is beyond my expectatons. The response from my fans with my debut scent was overwhelming, and I can’t wait to see what happens with my second Luscious fragrance.”
Of the scent, Mariah explains that it is, “feminine, flirtatious and fun, and truly reflects where I am in my life now.”
Mariah will have some competition this August, as that is also when fellow songbird Jessica Simpson will release her debut perfume, Fancy, which is an altogether different scent (word has it that Fancy will be a floral-oriental fragrance, which can sometimes be a bit on the stronger/spicier side of scents).

NOTES (as listed on fragrancenet.com): orange flower, honeysuckle, sandalwood, nectar, musk, freesia, and wood
It took a lot of concentration to spray Blush on myself without having a pre-disposed opinion of it; I had previously tested another [more popular] Marc Jacobs fragrance (Daisy) and was less than thrilled with the results.
